Q. How do I access the library databases from off-campus?

If you are a current student, faculty or staff member, simply visit the library's website.  Access the Database List or search OneSearch to find out what we have access to.  It is important that you go through the library's website to access our databases and not through Google.  Clicking links in our catalog or the database list will prompt you to login from off-campus with your UR NetID and password.  That will allow you access from off-campus. 

You do have the option of installing and using the VPN. By using this, you can bypass the login and you are not required to go through the library's website.  

What to do if EZproxy goes down

EZproxy is the proxy server that manages off-campus authentication for the library’s databases.  If EZproxy goes down either for planned maintenance or due to an outage, here’s what to do:

1. If you are off campus, use the VPN (as discussed above).  If you are on campus, proceed to step 2.
2. Access this list of database links without the EZproxy prefix. Most of the links in the regular Databases A-Z List will not work.
